My background lies in Insurance and Financial Services, including several years spent in Germany. Following my return to the UK, I was appointed Director of a firm of insurance brokers in the City. More recently I have been engaged in the sale of Private Medical Insurance to both corporate and individual clients.
Not so long ago I was asked by someone who had served in the German Army in Occupied France in 1944, whether I could help him to locate an English pilot whom he had taken prisoner after his aircraft had been shot down following a bombing raid. Without even the name of the crashed pilot to go on, I managed to trace the airman in question. This entailed much research at the Public Records Office in Kew, going through aircraft "crash reports" and even speaking with some survivors of the raid in question. The project involved many hours of investigation and research, and was carried out entirely without access to the Internet.
More recently, I have been successful in tracing around thirty of my former classmates from my Secondary school. The success of this venture encouraged me to attempt the same thing with my former Primary school class (which goes back to 1955 / 56!) Many of these people were not on the Internet.

My fees are very reasonable, and are based on the number of days required to complete the task. I am prepared to travel reasonable distances within the UK and Europe, where my fluency in German could prove very useful in gathering data.
